CHRÁŠŤANY, CZECH REPUBLIC — Early this month, VAFO Praha unveiled an expansion of its Brit Veterinary Diet pet food line, which is designed to meet specific nutritional needs in dogs and cats with health issues. The expansion includes new wet and dry formulas targeting weight management, lipid absorption, food allergies and intolerances, and other specific health concerns.
New formulas under the Brit Veterinary Diet range include:
- Gastrointestinal, Low-Fat, which is designed for cats and dogs prone to obesity, with a lipid absorption disorder, triaditis, protein-losing enteropathy or pancreatis.
- Sterilized, which is made to help control weight and body condition in neutered cats and dogs.
- Ultra-hypoallergenic, which is formulated with insect protein for cats and dogs with food allergies or intolerances.
- Veg High-fiber, which is designed to support optimal body weight in dogs with experiencing colitis and diarrhea.
All products under the Brit Veterinary Diet line are free of common food allergens, including beef, dairy, wheat, corn and soy. The formulas are made with protein sources specifically chosen to help with specific health concerns and are packed with functional ingredients, including probiotics, bioactive vitamins, and DHA and EPA.
According to VAFO, all foods in the range have been rigorously tested in veterinary clinics to ensure efficacy and high-quality. The products are only available from veterinary clinics and should only be used based on a consultation with veterinarian, according to VAFO.
In addition to the new products, VAFO also shared it appointed Jan Brejcha to marketing director on Sept. 13. Brejcha will oversee all of VAFO’s brands, particularly its flagship Brit and Carnilove brands, in the Czech Republic and international markets.
“I’m thrilled to welcome aboard a person of Jan’s caliber,” said Jakub Majer, choef executive officer of VAFO Praha. “I’m confident he’s going to make a significant contribution to our transformation into a marketing powerhouse with multiple brands, while elevating our key products to the status of European market leaders.”
Brejcha has extensive experience in marketing at the local and international levels and has helped grow the equity, market share and financials of various companies in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. He has led marketing campaigns for Coco-Cola, Plzeňský Prazdroj, Mars and Mondelēz. Prior to joining VAFO, Brejcha served as director of marketing at Lidl, a German retail chain.
“I’ve spent over 20 years working for the largest brands in FMCG, both here at home and abroad,” Brejcha said. “I’ve been fortunate with opportunities, thanks to which I’ve gained experience and skills in a wide range of areas, not just in marketing. And when the chance arose to put all of that to use and become a business development partner in a private Czech company with an amazing product, beautiful brands, wonderful people and big international ambitions, the decision was obvious. Moreover, at home we’ve got three adopted dogs, so, as they say, it’s a matter of the heart for me.”
