HILLSBOROUGH, NC. — Viva Raw LLC issued a voluntary recall of some of its dog and cat foods after Listeria monocytogenes was found in its pet food products. Listeria monocytogenes is a potential health risk to people and pets.
The Listeria monocytogenes contamination was discovered during a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and North Carolina Department of Agriculture (NCDA) inspection of the facility. Samples of Viva Turkey for Dogs tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, which led to the recall and destruction of all products produced in Lot 21244.
