STOCKHOLM — European natural, premium pet food producer Voff Premium Pet Food announced its acquisition of Carnibest, a Dutch manufacturer of raw dog and cat foods, on Oct. 3. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Founded in 2001, Carnibest specializes in “unprocessed” raw pet foods made with premium ingredients to ensure high quality nutrition for cats and dogs. The manufacturer has a presence in the Netherlands and Belgium.
According to Voff, Carnibest complements its existing portfolio in the natural, raw pet food segment. The transaction is expected to broaden Voff’s offerings and strengthen its position in the central European market.
“It is truly exciting to welcome Carnibest to the Voff group,” said Anders Kristiansen, who was recently appointed chief executive officer of Voff. “We have been following Carnibest for a long time and are certain that we can jointly continue the success story that Carnibest has been since its inception.”
As part of the acquisition, Carnibest’s Owner Corine Bunschoten will leave the company to pursue other opportunities.
“Carnibest has been synonymous with premium quality raw dog and cat food for over two decades, and it has been a pleasure to be able to build this great company,” she said. “I trust that Voff, a fellow believer in natural, premium pet food products, will build on and expand the Carnibest brand, in addition to serving our customers even better.”
The acquisition of Carnibest represents Voff’s second in the Netherlands this year. In February, the company entered the Dutch market through its acquisition of Energique. It also represents Voff’s 10th total acquisition since its launch in 2014.
