LEXINGTON, KY. — Pawse announced Jan. 27 it has launched Mighty Mushrooms, a new functional mushroom-based product for pets and the company’s first to be formulated without CBD. The limited-ingredient formulation includes USDA Certified Organic extracts from fruiting bodies of the Chaga, Maitake, Reishi, Shiitake and Turkey Tail mushroom varieties.

The functional focus of these new freeze-dried soft chews aims to support healthy immune response, anal glands, skin and allergy responses in both dogs and cats. According to Pawse, Mighty Mushroom chews contain more than 20% Beta-glucans, which is the key active compound from mushrooms in the formula. The recipe is free from added starch, mycelium, grains, fillers, gluten and GMO ingredients.

“Our Mighty Mushrooms take our same delicious freeze dried bites that dogs and cats go crazy for and combine a blend of five USDA Certified Organic mushroom extracts to help boost immune response, as well as positively impact a number of other health factors,” said Matt Frazier, founding partner and director of R&D and operations at Pawse. “We’re already seeing a lot of success and excitement around these. There is substantial research supporting the many health benefits they provide.”

Mighty Mushroom soft chews are manufactured in Kentucky and intended for supplemental feeding to dogs and cats of all sizes. The new product compliments Pawse’s existing portfolio, which includes three products launched in December 2022: Bark-Less Bites, Daily Support Full Spectrum Hemp CBD Oil, and Hip & Joint Gravy. The company’s Bark-Less Bites contain 100% USDA Certified Organic Full Spectrum Hemp Extract and are available in six proteins.
