NEW YORK — PetPlate, a fresh dog food company, announced several recent hires spanning various departments, including sales, product development and marketing.
Josh Patterson joined the company as national sales director. Prior to PetPlate, Patterson served as national sales director and retail marketing director for pet food brand Nulo, establishing relationships with distributors and independent accounts. Before Nulo, he served as vice president of merchandising at Petsense.
In Patterson’s role with PetPlate, he will focus on expanding the company’s distribution and availability to pet specialty retailers.

Marissa Fuerderer joined PetPlate as product development manager. She has experience in developing pet treats, supplements and dental products. Prior to PetPlate, Fuerderer worked for FETCH For Pets, overseeing the development of hundreds of products for large companies, including Amazon, Burt’s Bees and Arm and Hammer. She also managed product development for Penn Plax.
"I recently started as product development manager at PetPlate and am looking forward to leveraging my experience in the industry to help bring new, high-quality foods to the market that pet parents like myself can be confident in feeding to their pups,” Fuerderer said.
Kristin Jensen joined PetPlate as R&D manager, helping the company develop and formulate new products while maintaining quality, as well as improve the company’s existing products. Jensen joins the company with five years of experience in independent pet retail and three years of experience as an associate scientist for PetSmart.

Stephen Lamberton joined the company as chief financial officer. Prior to his new role, Lamberton served as chief financial officer and held other leadership roles at FreshDirect, CaaStle, Thinx and Athletic Brewing Company. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from New York University and a bachelor's in politics from Princeton University.
Matt Sherman joined PetPlate as senior vice president of brand marketing. Sherman has led several marketing initiatives for Handsome Eggs, Chobani, Coca-Cola and L’Oreal. In his new role with PetPlate, Sherman will uncover consumer insights to develop brand positioning, visual identity, messaging and creative assets for the company’s target audience. He will also help increase brand awareness and consumer engagement by creating marketing and advertising campaigns, leading to customer base and revenue growth.
Sarmad Saghir joined the company as senior vice president of growth marketing. Saghir has experience in marketing and analytics and worked for Adore Me, HungryRoot, Helix Sleep, M.M. LaFleur, Audible and Amazon. At PetPlate, Saghir will work closely with Sherman and will focus on scaling the company’s online marketing efforts and expanding its online distribution.
Sabina Rahaman joined PetPlate as senior director of brand marketing. Prior to PetPlate, Rahaman served as ambassador for Skara Life’s marketing program, and worked for Nutrafol and Ara Labs. She has experience in brand development, marketing, advertising from Unilever and Danone. In her new role, Rahaman will develop creative campaigns, influencer and ambassador programs, as well as aid in the company’s insight and research initiatives.
Founded in 2016, PetPlate provides meal plan subscriptions of its human-grade, fresh dog food directly to consumers via its online platform. The company’s current products include meals, toppers, treats and supplements designed with the help of veterinarians.
