A joint study by Pet Food Institute, the North American Renderers Association and the Institute for Feed Education and Research shows pet food is stimulating the US agricultural economy.

The company released two new fish-based dog foods under its CORE RawRev line, and will now offer multipacks of its best-selling Complete Health wet cat foods.

The company unloaded a variety of both new and improved pet foods to meet demand for growing cat and small dog ownership.

Net sales were down for the company overall, as well as in premium dog food and pet treats, with the cat category maintaining steady growth.

The product, Pro Plan LiveClear, includes Fel d1 antibodies that inhibit the major cat allergen, therefore reducing its allergic effects on people.

The contest, “Uplift the Underdog: Cat Edition,” plays off the company’s previous efforts to encourage adoption of dogs and cats that are seen as less adoptable due to age, health or behavior.
