IRVING, TEXAS — On Dec. 12, Darling Ingredients Inc. announced that Robert Day, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of the company, has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Feb. 25. Day will succeed Brad Phillips, who will retire from the ingredient supplier. 

Phillips has been with Darling Ingredients for 36 years, and will remain with the company until June 15 to help assist Day with the transition.

We thank him for his unwavering dedication and wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Day originally joined Darling Ingredients in 2023 as chief strategy officer. Prior to joining the company, he was a partner at Ascendant Partners, an investment bank and advisory firm. He also worked for Ceres Global Ag. Corp. from 2015 to 2022 and served as CEO from 2016 to 2022. Day also held several executive and senior management roles at Cargill in Asia, Latin America and the United States for more than 19 years.

Sandra Dudley, executive vice president of Renewables and US Specialty Operations, will add the role of CSO to her responsibilities. Dudley originally joined Darling Ingredients in 2015 and has served as executive vice president of Renewables and US Specialty Operations since October 2021. Since then, she has supported the company’s investment in its Diamond Green Diesel joint venture, as well as its wet pet food, organic fertilizer, bakery feeds, refining and restaurant services businesses. 

Prior to joining Darling Ingredients, Dudley worked at ConAgra Foods from 1998 to 2004, and at Tenaska Marketing Ventures from 2004 to 2015. 

Additionally, Carlos Paz will join Darling Ingredients as executive vice president of Global Risk Management and Ingredients. In this newly created role, Paz will oversee risk-taking and trading activities throughout the globe, as well as lead management and mitigation risks regarding commodity price fluctuations, supply chain disruptions and market volatility. 

Paz most recently served as president and CEO of Ceres Global Ag. Prior to this, he worked at Cargill for more than 20 years, holding various leadership roles.
