BIRMINGHAM, ALA. — Gaines Pet Treats LLC issued a voluntary recall of its Family Farmstead Chicken Chips dog treats due to potential Salmonella contamination on Nov. 22.
The recalled treats come in 5-oz bags with a lot number of 20061124 and an expiration date of 12/11/25. The treats were distributed through online retailers and via independent pet retailers in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
Salmonella can impact pets that have consumed the food, as well as humans that have handled the products. According to Gaines Pet Treats, no illnesses have yet been reported in connection with the recall.
