NEW YORK — Plant-based fresh dog food producer Bramble announced Oct. 7 that seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is its newest investor. Hamilton is joined by his bulldog, Roscoe, who will become the brand’s chief taste officer.
As an advocate for plant-based living, Hamilton first introduced his 12-year-old bulldog to a plant-based diet in 2020. According to Hamilton, soon after the switch, Roscoe showed significant health improvements including increased energy, a shinier coat, and healthier skin, ultimately leading Hamilton to seek out a vegan dog food brand and discover Bramble.
“Roscoe and I are thrilled to team up with Bramble,” Hamilton said. “This extends beyond a traditional investment for me, as this is a space I care deeply about and am excited to support. As someone who’s continuously looking to improve my health and find the right food to keep my energy levels up, I think we should look to do the same for our pets, and I want to give Roscoe the best ingredients to keep him healthy and active.
“Bramble ticked all the boxes for me,” he added. “It’s great to see how far plant-based food has come in the last five years, and I look forward to working with the passionate and dedicated team at Bramble to spread the message about how beneficial a plant-based diet can be for our dogs.”
Founded in 2021, Bramble was created to provide high-quality, plant-based food without sacrificing the meaty taste dogs crave. Founder and Chief Executive Officer Amanda Rolat created the brand when she was unable to find a commercial pet food that aligned with her values on health, sustainability and animal welfare.
The company currently offers two premium dog food recipes: The Cowbell and The Roost. Both formulas are plant-based, high in protein, and contain no preservatives or chemicals, according to Bramble. It also offers organic, human-grade treats: Maple Bac’n and Carob Pumpkin.
The brand sources its ingredients from the United States and gently cooks the food in small batches before freezing to maintain nutrients. According to the brand, its food exceeds the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) standards. In addition, an independent feeding trial by the University of Illinois showed that dogs fed Bramble had significantly lower cholesterol and triglycerides as well as a healthier microbiome, according to Bramble.
“I couldn’t be happier about this partnership and to join forces with Lewis Hamilton, a fellow dog parent and animal advocate,” Rolat said. “I created Bramble because I truly believe that dogs and their caregivers deserve access to complete-and-balanced food that is nutritionally packed while also being free from pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, carcinogens and other harmful contaminants. As omnivores, dogs are able to get their nutrients from a plant-based diet if formulated correctly. I’m looking forward to working with Lewis and Roscoe to raise awareness for Bramble in a genuine, creative and fun way.”
