FRANKLIN, TENN. — On May 17, Mars Petcare US announced a voluntary recall of its PEDIGREE® Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food due to the potential presence of loose metal pieces. 

The affected products include 44-lb bags of the PEDIGREE Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food. The product has a Best By Date of March 4, 2025, and lot code 410B2TXT02. According to Mars Petcare, the recall impacts 315 bags of the food, which were sold by Walmart stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. 

The potential presence of metal pieces in the bagged product could pose a health hazard to pets. According to Mars Petcare, there have been no reports of pet injuries or illnesses regarding the recall. The company is currently working with Walmart to ensure all affected products are no longer sold and removed from shelves.
