ST. LOUIS — Nestlé Purina PetCare launched a new supplement June 27, targeting mobility in dogs. The new Joint Care supplement seeks to support mobility, healthy cartilage and joints in dogs and puppies of all breeds and sizes.
The new supplement joins the Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Supplements line. The soft chewable supplement was developed by Purina’s team of researchers and veterinarians and took more than two years to fully develop.
Formulated with collagen, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate and Omega 3 fatty acids, Joint Care seeks to support normal daily activity, as well as a normal inflammatory response in joints during aging in dogs. According to Purina, the supplement is recommended for dogs and puppies that are pre-disposed to joint health issues.
“A joint supplement like Joint Care is an easy way to help keep our dogs jumping, fetching, running and ‘dogging’ as comfortably as possible,” said RuthAnn Lobos, DVM, CCRT, CVAT, senior veterinarian at Purina.
According to the company, a joint supplement is just one way dog parents can help support their dogs’ joint health. Other recommended ways to help improve mobility and joint health include maintaining a dog’s ideal body condition, keeping their muscles engaged through a variety of activities, providing steps or ramps, and feeding a diet rich in Omega 3 fatty acids.
The new Joint Care supplement is designed for daily use. It is available in a 30-count small chew size for smaller dogs and a 30-count large chew size for larger dogs.
