ELMIRA, ONTARIO — Canadian pet nutrition company Nutram Pet Products has formed a partnership with pet product retailer Pet Planet. Nutram’s nutrition products will now be available at 48 Pet Planet locations throughout Western Canada.

“We’re proud to begin offering our recipes through Pet Planet retail stores,” said Rob Viliani, vice president of sales and general manager, Nutram Pet Products. “This partnership embodies our support of Canadians supporting Canadians supporting Canadians.”

Founded in 1993, Nutram is based out of Elmira and operates a privately owned production facility. The company offers all-natural diets for dogs and cats targeting specific health needs, including skin and coat health, stomach sensitivities, weight management and cognitive development. Each of Nutram’s formulas also offers a boost of holistic benefits, according to the company.

Since its founding, Nutram has been dedicated to offering its formulas in Canadian-owned specialty pet stores.

“It's extremely important for us to support other Canadian-owned businesses,” Viliani said. “With the quality of Canadian ingredients at our fingertips, backed by decades of knowledge of pet nutrition, we feel a partnership with a strong Canadian pet specialty chain, such as Pet Planet, is a great opportunity to bring Canadian products to pet guardians.”

Pet Planet hand selected Nutram’s pet food products to appear in its stores. The products underwent a rigorous review process to ensure Nutram’s formulas met nutritional and food safety standards. Pet Planet ultimately granted the pet food company a Certificate of Trust.

Through the partnership, Nutram’s products will be available at Pet Planet retail locations throughout Western Canada, including Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and other cities.
