ODESSA, FLA. — Stratford Care USA, Inc., recalled several brands of its Omega 3 supplements for cats and dogs due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin A. The recall impacts more than 60 brands of Omega 3 soft gel supplements.
Stratford Care USA issued the recall after a dog exhibited signs of vitamin A toxicity after consuming one of the company’s supplements. Vitamin A is an essential nutrient, however, ingestion of elevated levels can lead to several health issues, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The supplements for dogs and cats were distributed nationwide to veterinary clinics, distribution centers, retailers and online e-commerce platforms, like Amazon and Chewy. Each Omega 3 supplement is packaged in a white plastic container offering 60 soft gels. Impacted products state “lot 31133 EXP 04/13/23” and “lot 30837 EXP 10/26/22.” The affected brands include:

According to Stratford Care USA, the products were produced by a co-manufacturer and sold to the company, which solely serves as a distributor of supplements. The company is urging consumers, veterinarians and retail partners to discard all of the Omega 3 supplement products listed above. No other Stratford Care products were impacted by the recall.
