ORLANDO, FLA. — The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and Feedstuffs recognized Animix LLC’s facility in Juneau, Wis., as the 2022 Premix/Ingredient Feed Facility of the Year during its Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference (PISC) from March 7 to 9.
The AFIA’s Premix/Ingredient Feed Facility of the Year award is part of the association’s Facility of the Year Program, which was established in 1985. In 2021, the association began recognizing facilities in four categories: commercial dry, liquid feed, integrator, and premix and ingredient.
Gary Huddleston, director of feed manufacturing and regulatory affairs at the AFIA, presented Randall Boldt, director of operations at Animix, with the award on March 8.
“What really struck us is how hard this facility works on creating the right culture for their employees,” Huddleston said.
Animix produces calf milk replacer premix, supplements and ingredients, and operates two locations with additional backup manufacturing capabilities. According to the AFIA, the company excels in customer satisfaction, operating nine production lines for versatility, and provides various packaging sizes to meet its customers’ needs. At its Juneau location, Animix recently installed a new Carter Day pulverizer to grind dicalcium phosphorous anhydrous to a more uniform size.
“I have to hand it to our group at Animix, from top to bottom,” Boldt said. “They come in every day and give it everything they’ve got to ensure we produce quality products for our customers.”
