SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Bioved Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a “discovery platform” for safe, natural and effective plant-based pharma- and nutraceuticals, announced the launch of its new animal health chews. The functional chews line targets health concerns in animals, including joint, liver and immune health.
“We are very excited with this new phase in our company,” said Deben Dey, Ph.D., chief scientific officer of Bioved. “This is truly the humanization of pets. We take technology and products that have been clinically tested in human beings and have all the underlying safety and efficacy studies. We have developed a line of products in natural and tasty chews for dogs initially.”
The new chews line includes:
- Anitrex® for bone and joint health
- Anilean® for weight management
- Ammunex™ for boosting immunity
- Anilive™ for liver health
“As with our human products, each batch is tested to be free from residual solvents, pesticides, bacterial contamination and heavy metals,” Dey said. “We maintain the highest standards of manufacturing in the United States, and will be extending the line to other companion and large animals.”
Founded in 1999, Bioved specializes in plant-based nutraceuticals, supplements and over-the-counter products for human health, using Ayurveda, an alternative medicine system with roots in India. Headquartered in San Jose, the company has subsidiaries in Pune, India, and Hanoi, Vietnam. Bioved’s products are currently sold in more than three continents.
Bioved uses a patented method to extract ingredients from plants and herbs to develop its functional products.
The new dog-focused products will officially launch at the Western Veterinary Conference from Feb. 19 to 22 in Las Vegas.
