SEATTLE — EarthWise Pet, a network of locally-owned and operated pet retail stores, announced Nov. 15 it has acquired 42 new franchise locations. This brings the company’s total store count to more than 170 locations, of which 75% are franchisee-owned and 25% are company-owned.
"We are well-positioned for strong organic and acquisition growth,” said Mike Seitz, chief executive officer of EarthWise. “In addition to our core and rapidly growing franchise base, we are leveraging our organization and network to pursue additional accretive acquisitions, enabling us to execute on our broader pet services strategy.”
The pet retailer has been around for more than 40 years. Its product assortment is focused on all-natural nutrition and eco-friendly supplies and toys. EarthWise Pet also offers grooming and daycare services.
EarthWise Pet worked with financial advisor Peakstone on the transaction. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
