GRAAFF-REINET, SOUTH AFRICA — Montego Pet Nutrition has expanded its executive personnel with the appointment of Johann Kotzé to supply chain executive. Kotzé originally joined Montego eight months ago and helped lead the company’s acquisition of six distribution facilities.
“Montego has experienced significant growth to our supply chain over the last eight months,” said Johnan van Jaarsveld, managing director of Montego. “Having Johann as part of the executive team will improve feedback on performance of our supply chain and will fast track important decision-making.”
Kotzé has experience in management accounting and operations and supply chain management. Prior to his promotion, he helped improve Montego’s customer delivery service and the efficiency of its fleet management and planning processes. As part of his new role, Kotzé will develop the foundations of the company’s teams, optimizing the company’s business processes and helping it achieve its business goals.
“My vision is to have a department made up of engaged team players working together in our areas of expertise, which will allow us to create the most efficient and streamlined supply chain in Africa,” Kotzé said.
Founded in 2000, Montego is Africa’s largest pet food manufacturer, according to the company, with operations spanning 21 countries. The company’s pet food brands include Monty & Me, Wuma!, Karoo, Field + Forest, Bags O’ Wags, Packs O’ Purrs, XenPet and others, spanning dry and wet formulas, toppers, treats and supplements.
