OAKLAND, CALIF. — Cruelty- and slaughter-free pet nutrition company Because, Animals  announced July 14 the launch of its latest supplement line containing the brand’s proprietary Bmmune® Nutritional Yeast blend.

The blend contains nutritional yeast that is high in protein and fiber, as well as fermentation powders to boost immune health, the company shared.

According to Because, Animals, nutritional yeast is a cultured ingredient containing naturally occurring B vitamins that support metabolism, immunity and brain development. Its umami taste and amino acid profile makes it bioavailable and palatable protein option for pets, the company shared.

“Because, Animals loves nutritional yeast so much, we made our own,” said Joshua Errett, co-founder and chief operating officer at Because, Animals. “We blended a high protein strain of nutritional yeast with fermented koji, giving Bmmune special immune-boosting B vitamins. Bmmune is the superstar ingredient in our supplements, serving as a complete, bioavailable protein with all 10 of the essential amino acids dogs require. A bonus is that it has a cheesy, savory taste pets love.”

The new supplements include six new SKUs in three formulas — Immune Health Sprinkles, Joint Boost Sprinkles and Wellness Sprinkles — with each recipe available for both dogs and cats.

Immune Health Sprinkles is formulated with probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics to support gut health. Fermented, animal-free glutamine acts as an anti-inflammatory in this formula, and the inclusion of B vitamins offers immune defense and longevity benefits for pets.

Joint Boost Sprinkles contains cultured, animal-free glucosamine to address joint health and fight deleterious joint and bone conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis. It also includes algae-derived DHA and turmeric to address inflammation. The Bmmune Nutritional Yeast blend provides B vitamins, fiber and anti-inflammatory benefits for this recipe.

Wellness Sprinkles features an exclusive Bflora probiotic, a source of beneficial bacteria, to target gut health and digestion, immune health, skin and coat health, and preventive health. A blend of seaweed ingredients offers more than 250 million active probiotic cultures, fortified by fruit and vegetable powders that deliver antioxidants to support overall health and wellness. This formula also contains Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids to boost skin and coat health.
