ELVEN, FRANCE and HOLZMINDEN, GERMANY — Ingredient supplier Symrise AG announced on March 17 that it would be combining and rebranding its ADF, IsoNova, Schaffelaarbos and Diana Pet Food brands under one division. The new division will carry the name Symrise Pet Food and will exclusively focus on providing pet food manufacturers with high-quality ingredients and nutrition solutions.
The new Symrise Pet Food organization will fit under Symrise’s Taste, Nutrition and Health sector. The organization will focus on three areas within pet food: palatability with the SPF brand; pet nutrition with the newly created Nutrios brand; and pet food protection with the Videka brand, a joint venture between Symrise and Kalsec.
“Symrise Pet Food unites the leading players in their markets and fields of expertise,” said Bertrand de Launay, president of Symrise Pet Food. “They share a strong sustainability approach as their business models draw on creating value from by-products.”
Nutrios will supply natural ingredients and expertise to help build evolving animal nutrition. The new brand gathers its chicken products from ADF, egg ingredients from IsoNova and Schaffelaarbos, and health solutions from Vivae.
“The joint Pet Food division of Symrise means we are now fully structured to serve the pet food market’s dynamic growth globally,” Launay said. “Our strategy will focus on three key axes. First, we want to expand our leadership in pet food palatability with SPF. Second, we want to accelerate globalization in pet nutrition with our Nutrios brand. And third, we want to become a strong player in pet food protection with Videka.”
This rebranding follows Symrise’s many acquisitions of ingredient suppliers. In November 2019, Symrise acquired ADF/IsoNova through its Diana Pet Food subsidiary, and in January 2022 the company acquired Schaffelaarbos.
