TORONTO — On Feb. 3, the Toronto 6ix announced that Champion Petfoods, producer of ORIJEN® pet foods, signed on as a Trailblazing Six sponsor. Through the two-year sponsorship, Champion Petfoods will provide allyship, financial assistance and marketing support to drive more opportunities for women in Canada.
The Trailblazing 6ix platform launched last month and partners sports teams with businesses to elevate professional women’s hockey and inspire the next generation of women.
“We’re excited to collaborate with yet another values-driven business and grow the Trailblazing Six platform,” said Digit Murphy, president of Toronto 6ix. “With a two-year sponsorship, Champion Petfoods has shown great commitment to the 6ix, and will collaborate with us as we make history by helping create more opportunities for the next generation of athletes on and off the ice, as well as championing our amazing players.”
As well as providing financial assistance and support, Champion Petfoods will act as presenting sponsor for the team’s Pet Rooster and will be the official food provider for all team members that have pets. The company will also give away 500 free Toronto 6ix tickets and samples of ORIJEN® pet food to attendees of the Toronto 6ix’s Pet Appreciation Game on March 13.
“The Toronto 6ix team’s loyal fanbase is one that loves living and supporting a healthy, athletic and active lifestyle, just like pet lovers who feed their cats and dogs ORIJEN® pet food, so this sponsorship made perfect sense,” said James Burns, director of marketing at Champion Petfoods. “We understand the importance of high-quality nutrition and how it can play a role in driving optimal performance, and that’s why we couldn’t be more excited to support this professional women’s team full of incredible and empowering athletes.”
