STAMFORD, CONN. — Canidae has introduced two new premium cat food lines: four solutions-based dry formulas targeting specific areas of health and wellness, and three wet diets inspired by “home-cooked meals.”
The solutions-based line, Canidae Goodness, was developed through a partnership between Canidae and a board-certified veterinary nutritionist. The line includes four formulas — Skin & Coat, Indoor Cat, Joints and Digestion — each incorporating the company’s proprietary HealthPLUS™ Solutions blend of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and probiotics to support overall health.
Goodness for Skin & Coat is formulated with salmon, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, zinc and biotin. Goodness for Indoor Cat includes white fish and natural fiber sources such as flaxseed and garbanzo beans. Goodness for Joints is also formulated with salmon, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, and also includes naturally occurring glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate. Lastly, Goodness for Digestion includes chicken, white rice, fiber from flaxseed and barley, and probiotics.
These complete-and-balanced diets are formulated with real poultry or fish as the first ingredients, and do not contain corn, wheat or soy ingredients. Canidae Goodness recipes are manufactured in the United States with globally sourced ingredients.
Canidae’s Balanced Bowl wet cat food formulas are complete-and-balanced but can also be fed as a meal topper. According to the company, each of the three recipes in this new line is “inspired by simple meals that cat owners can make in their own kitchen, offering the special experience of sharing a meal with your cat.”
Formulas include Tuna & Carrots Recipe, Chicken & Pumpkin Recipe, and Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe. Each formula is made with high-quality protein chunks, recognizable vegetable ingredients, healthy grains and gravies, and are free from corn, wheat, soy or carrageenan ingredients.
The Chicken & Pumpkin Recipe will launch later this August.
These two diets fueled a new social media campaign by Canidae, deemed “Catidae,” to celebrate World Cat Domination Day on June 24, in which influencers who are partnered with the brand let their cats take over their social media profiles for the day.
