VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — Just Kitchen Holdings Corp. (JustKitchen) entered the pet food market on June 22 with the launch of a proprietary fresh pet food brand, Wow Chow, in Taiwan. These delivery-only dog and cat food products feature whole proteins, vegetables and natural ingredients, formulated by professional chefs at JustKitchen.
JustKitchen is a network of 18 “ghost kitchens” offering delivery-only food brands through its own platform, JustMarket, and Uber Eats in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Wow Chow is currently available through Uber Eats and JustMarket in Taiwan, but the company hopes to scale its business globally going forward.
"Due to the early success of the Brand, we are exploring opportunities to expand it within Taiwan and abroad given that it is portable and scalable just like our portfolio of over 20 proprietary and partner food brands for human consumption," Chen added.
According to the company, demand for fresh pet food in Taiwan is rising alongside the growing pet population. In 2020, the number of pets in Taiwan outnumbered the population of children ages 15 and younger for the first time in the country’s history. Additionally, the pet food market has more than doubled in sales since 2010, reporting $194 million in sales in 2020.
JustKitchen expects to roll out subscription-based ordering services for Wow Chow in July.
