LONDON — After posting 145% growth in 2019, Edgard & Cooper, a United Kingdom-based natural pet food brand founded in 2016, announced Sept. 10 it is expanding distribution across Europe thanks to a partnership with the region’s largest pet product retailer, Fressnapf.
The distribution partnership will make the brand available in 14 European markets, including 245 across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Republic of Ireland. Edgard & Cooper’s full pet product portfolio will also be made available on Fressnapf’s online platform serving consumers in Germany, where the retailer is headquartered.
"It's a huge milestone for us to be launching our feel-good brand with Fressnapf,” said Jürgen Degrande, co-founder of Edgard & Cooper. “It means we can provide even more shoppers across Europe with the choice to make healthier, planet friendlier purchase decisions for their pets."
The pet food company plans to continue expanding its distribution going into 2021. Since its founding, it has sold more than five million SKUs across Europe.
Edgard & Cooper offers dry dog and cat food products that align with trends toward humanization and premiumization, with formulas containing fresh meat instead of dried meat and fish meals. Diets are manfuactured through a gentle process using minimal heat to retain nutritional value, according to the company.
The brand’s dry pet food packaging is made from 100% biodegradable paper and bioplastic materials. The brand is also committed to philanthropy, committing 1% of annual sales to its own independent charity supporting in-need dogs and cats globally.
