BRENTWOOD, MO — A new brand of pet food, Freely Pet, LLC, launched during Global Pet Expo last month. Freely Pet offers grain-free and grain-inclusive dry and wet complete diets, as well as functional bone broths, for dogs and cats through a subscription based direct-to-consumer model.
The company is angling for limited-ingredient diets that are made in the US. All Freely Pet’s cat foods are grain-free, while its dog foods include both grain-free and whole grain options, as well as vegetarian and “whole grain flexitarian” formulas.
Dry dog foods are available for small breeds, puppies and normal adult dogs. Proteins in the line include lamb, turkey and salmon, aside from the vegetarian and flexitarian options. Freely Pet’s wet dog foods are all grain-free and available in vegetarian, salmon, lamb and turkey formulas.
For cats, Freely offers three grain-free protein options in its kibble and wet canned lines: salmon, rabbit and turkey. As of now, the company offers one bone broth for cats, the tranquility blend.
Freely Pet’s bone broths are offered in three formulas for dogs: gut health blend with bison, chicory root and ginger; skin and coat blend with lamb and zinc; and tranquility blend with turkey, chamomile and lavender. They are intended as meal enhancers for the company’s kibble diets.
"We are committed to improving the health of pets by giving pet parents easy access to the information they need through our Nutrition Center and by offering simple, limited ingredient recipes suitable for a broad range of dogs and cats," said Reed Howlett, founder and CEO of Freely Pet.
Additionally, George Collings, Ph.D. and board-certified animal nutritionist, will be providing nutritional guidance to pet owners through the Freely Pet brand’s Nutrition Center.
