MUENSTER, Texas — Muenster Milling Company, a family-owned manufacturer of pet food and other animal feeds, is taking its custom manufacturing to the next level with My Custom Dog Food™, a service in which the company will produce customized formulas for its clients.

Muenster Milling’s autoship clients can create more than 3,000 dog foods with more than 14 different base mixes and six enhancements to choose from. The company said it hopes to offer joint health, skin and coat, digestive and heart-healthy supplements to its list of enhancements by January 2020, with salmon and beef protein “boosters” queued up for the near future.

The manufacturer currently offers salmon oil, bacon fat and freeze-dried raw coated elk as enhancements, with coconut oil, freeze-dried raw coated beef and freeze-dried raw coated chicken “coming soon.”

“There are literally thousands of different dog foods on the market all competing with the exact same technology and science,” said Mitch Felderhoff, president of Muenster Milling. The company hopes to set itself apart with My Custom Dog Food and offer pet owners the ability to find a recipe that will keep their dog healthy and give them the flavor they prefer.

Currently, Muenster Milling is offering two formulas available for customization: Grain Free with rabbit, and Ancient Grains with chicken. Recipe enhancements are available to auto-ship customers only, according to Muenster.
