US exports of dog and cat foods to the country almost tripled from 2015 to 2022.

The SMART Act aims to increase funding, therefore expanding trade for US agricultural and pet food industries.

According to the Thai Pet Food Trade Association, the country became the world’s third largest pet food exporter in 2021.

The administration will sponsor four new trade missions throughout the globe.
