According to the Thai Pet Food Trade Association, the country became the world’s third largest pet food exporter in 2021.

Under the new Developing Countries Trading Scheme, the country will establish tariff cuts on imports from more than 65 countries.

The pet and animal associations are urging the Biden administration to suspend, reduce or eliminate Section 301 and 232 tariffs.

Dog and cat food exports grew in 2021, but the path forward is contingent on continued negotiations.
