The retailer is launching two takeback recycling programs to advance pet parents’ environmental impact efforts.

The retailers have collected and recycled 3.5 tons of pet product packaging waste through TerraCycle over the last six months.

In order to meet these targets, all changes must be in progress this year. 

Cans, cups, chubs and pouches are serving multiple purposes for wet formulations, from humanization to eco-friendliness to food safety.

The company reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 40%, achieved zero-waste, and made progress toward several other environmental and social goals.

This latest expansion represents a $10 million investment by the company.

Following its foray into the US market, the company is taking advantage of increasing demand for wet production and more sustainable packaging.

UK Pet Food has partnered with the coalition and is urging its pet industry members to sign on to the sustainable packaging pledge.

The accreditation verifies the brand’s environmental and social business practices. 

The supplier has received the 2023 AmeriStar Award in the shelf-stable category for a sustainable packaging solution used by Purina.
