CARROS, FRANCE and ISTANBUL — Virbac recently shared its Turkish subsidiary has acquired companion animal products distributor Mopsan. Through the acquisition, the company aims to strengthen its foothold in the Turkish pet health market.

Established in 1993 and headquartered in Istanbul, Mopsan has been working alongside veterinarians to distribute pet products for more than 30 years. The company offers a range of distribution services, operating a network in Ankara, İzmir and Antalya, Turkey, and has been carrying out sales and marketing activities for Virbac. The distributor currently has 47 employees. 

Following the acquisitions, Alican İngeç, former owner and managing director of Mopsan, has been appointed managing director of all Virbac’s activities in Turkey. 

According to Virbac, the acquisition will allow it to better meet the expectations and needs of the animal health industry.
