BRÉHAN, FRANCE — Olmix, a company specializing in the development, production and distribution of high-value solutions for livestock and crop farming, introduced MycoKingdom.net, a platform dedicated to the management and understanding of mycotoxin risk in agriculture. The new website aims to address the growing concern of mycotoxins and their impacts on animal nutrition.

Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by molds and harmful bacteria that can grow on various crops and ingredients used in human and animal foods, such as corn and wheat. According to Olmix, these toxins can lead to harmful health effects if not properly controlled.

With this in mind, the company has created its new mycotoxin platform. It offers seven tools to help identify, assess, prevent and manage mycotoxin risk in order to help ensure food safety. One of these tools is Myco’Essential, a digital guide that provides general information on the nature of mycotoxins and specific details on these toxins’ effects on animal health and the level of toxicity.

Additionally, Myco’Simulator offers an in-depth understanding of mycotoxins, including the structure of the six main mycotoxins, so processors can learn about their physico-chemical behavior.

“Thanks to this platform of interactive tools, designed for simple, intuitive navigation, Olmix is extending its range of services to support livestock professionals on a daily basis: nutritionists, formulators, technicians, veterinarians and breeders,” said Marie Gallissot, head of the mycotoxin solutions range at Olmix.

Other tools include the Myco’Screen service, which offers a variety of analysis including rapid testing methods and full screenings using chromatography; the Myco’Evaluator, a diagnostic tool; and the Myco’Calculator, which optimizes all solutions in the Myco’Kingdom platform and more.

“Supporting our users in their choice of analysis, and interpreting the results via customized reports, is a real added value, helping them to make risk management decisions with complete confidence,” said Leandro Royo, mycotoxin risk product manager at Olmix.
