CHICAGO and PHOENIX — Grubhub announced on Oct. 30 that it is partnering with PetSmart to bring the pet retailer’s inventory of pet food, supplements, supplies and more to its marketplace. PetSmart is the delivery service’s first pet retail partner, marking its expansion beyond restaurants, convenience and grocery and into the pet products sector.
More than 14,000 products are available for delivery from more than 1,400 PetSmart locations on the Grubhub platform across all 50 states. Customers are able to choose from premium pet food, treats, toys and apparel, available for on-demand delivery. The pet retailer is also available as a part of Grubhub+, the service’s loyalty program that provides added benefits, making it even easier for customers to have their pets’ products delivered, according to the companies.
With more than half of Millennials and Gen Z consumers using online channels to purchase products for their pets, according to the American Pet Products Association’s (APPA) 2024 State of the Industry Report, the addition of PetSmart is a natural extension of the Grubhub Marketplace.
“Now with PetSmart, we’re giving our customers the ultimate convenience of getting more of what they want delivered right to their door,” said Craig Whitmer, vice president of new verticals at Grubhub. “Americans are investing in their pets more than ever, and I’m thrilled that customers can cater to their pets’ needs where they already order their favorite meals, grocery and convenience items.”
