PAWTUCKET, RI. — Pet supplies distributor Pet Food Experts (PFX) announced Oct. 7 the appointment of Greg Cyr to chief executive officer. Cyr succeeds Michael Baker, who will assume the role of vice chair of the board of directors. According to PFX, the CEO transition marks a new chapter for the business as it continues to grow.

Baker has been with PFX for 25 years, leading the company. As part of the board of directors, he will continue to shape the company’s vision.

Cyr offers 25 years of leadership experience and a history in the pet industry. Prior to his appointment, he served as CEO of Mid America Pet Foods (MAPF), a major manufacturer in the pet food space. At MAPF, Cyr helped the company achieve significant growth, driving it to become a front-runner in the industry. Before MAPF, Cyr held several senior positions, including chief commercial officer at Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, president at Central Garden & Pet, and various roles at Mars Petcare and Del Monte Foods.
