DENVER — Alphia, a pet food co-manufacturer, announced the appointment of John Bear to chief operating officer. John will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the company, including operational strategies, ensuring efficiency in achieving business goals and more.

Bear brings more than 30 years of experience in pet care manufacturing from his previous leadership roles with Nestlé Purina. He spent the first 15 years of his career in factory operations focusing on buying, transportation, quality, production and factory management. Following this, he served as the vice president of quality, vice president and director of manufacturing, and chief technical officer for Nestlé Purina. 

“We are happy to welcome John to the leadership team as we continue to ensure that Alphia remains a leader in the industry for high-quality pet food manufacturing,” said David McLain, chief executive officer and president of Alphia. “Bringing over three decades of experience in the pet food manufacturing industry, John’s knowledge will be a huge asset as we continue to adapt our strategy and optimization for company operations.”

According to the company, Bear will streamline business development goals, create a culture of community, and build a set of standards and routines to improve efficiency and sustain product quality. He will report directly to McLain.
