DENVER — Woof, a pet care brand that combines play and functional nutrition, announced a new oral health toy: the Bite n’Brush. This new enrichment toy, referred to as a “toothbrush for dogs,” uses treats to promote chewing and bristles to brush a dog’s teeth while they chew.
“The Bite n’ Brush is more than just a toy; it’s a game-changer in canine dental care,” said Daniel Haarburger, chief executive officer and founder of Woof. “Traditional methods of maintaining a dog’s teeth, such as toothbrushing or professional cleanings, can be expensive and stressful for both pets and their owners.”
The v-shaped Bite n’ Brush toy holds specifically formulated treats that motivate the dog to chew the toy. The dogs access the treats through slots in the toy that are surrounded by bristles. As the dog chews the toy to eat the treat, the bristles brush their teeth.
The Bite n’ Brush is intended to be used with Woof’s Dental Refills which are formulated with parsley, green tea extract and peppermint oil, all proven to support oral health, according to Woof. Parsley helps freshen breath; green tea extract has antioxidant properties; and peppermint oil has antimicrobial qualities to combat oral bacteria, reduce plaque and maintain fresher breath.
The oral health toy is available in a small size for dogs up to 30 lbs., and a larger size for dogs weighing more than 30 lbs. The Dental Refills are compatible with both sizes of toys.
“The Bite n’ Brush makes dog oral care fun,” Haarburger said. “This really is a novel solution for dog owners everywhere.”
