CHICAGO — Matrix Partners recently received Graphic Design USA’s (GDUSA) American Package Design Award for its package designs for W.F. Young’s Honest to Goodness Plant Snacks products.

GDUSA’s American Package Design Awards is an annual competition that celebrates the role packaging plays to advance a brand and its products. This year’s awards were one of the largest, with more than 3,000 entries from design firms, agencies and institutions. Just 10% of these entries were recognized.

“Being recognized by GDUSA for our work with Honest to Goodness is a huge honor,” said Natalie Murawski, associate creative director at Matrix Partners. “Our goal was to create packaging that conveys the essence of the brand while making their products memorable and more appealing to consumers. This award exemplifies the hard work and creativity of our entire team.”

Honest to Goodness launched earlier this year, offering a line of functional dog treats formulated with plant-based ingredients called Plant Snacks. The Plant Snacks treats are made with fruits, vegetables, probiotics and Marine Microalgae oil to support dog health and wellness, while also reducing environmental impact.

Matrix Partners created packaging for the Plant Snacks line. The company sought to create playful designs with a natural, fresh and honest look to highlight Honest to Goodness’ mission. The designs include vibrant pops of color, emitting a sense of joy and positivity that also creates a sense of trustworthiness with consumers, according to Matrix Partners.

This package design award represents one of many for Matrix Partners. The full-service agency has received GDUSA awards for its package designs for Montana Dog Food Co. and Fidelis Nutritionals and has been recognized by the Hermes Create Awards, Effie Awards, dotCOMM Awards and AVA Digital Awards.
