OVERLAND PARK, KAN. — Colgate-Palmolive and Hill’s Pet Nutrition announced a new partnership with The Street Dog Coalition to help support pets in need. Through the partnership, Hill’s will enable The Street Dog Coalition to distribute essential products and Hill’s pet food products to communities in need.

The Street Dog Coalition is a non-profit dedicated to providing free veterinary care, pet-related services and pet products to pets and pet parents that are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Hill’s partnership builds upon its existing support of The Street Dog Coalition and the community veterinary clinics it hosts throughout the United States. Hill’s veterinarians and employees have volunteered at many of these events.

“As long-time partners of Hill’s Pet Nutrition, we are thrilled to expand our collaboration,” said Hilary Wheeler, DVM, medical director for The Street Dog Coalition. “The increased support from Hill’s and Colgate-Palmolive allows us to make vital veterinary care and pet nutrition more accessible while also supporting people's oral health.”

Through the new partnership, Hill’s will ramp up its support in the organization. Pet parents attending The Street Dog Coalition’s clinic events will now receive free oral health and hygiene products for themselves and free Hill’s Science Diet dog and cat foods for their four-legged companions.

To celebrate the partnership, Hill’s and the organization hosted a special Street Dog Coalition pop-up veterinary clinic on June 24, in conjunction with the American Veterinary Medical Association Convention in Austin, Texas. During the pop-up event, The Street Dog Coalition unveiled its new RV, made possible by Hill’s and Colgate-Palmolive’s support, that will allow the organization to provide veterinary services to rural communities.

“Working with The Street Dog Coalition fits perfectly with Hill’s focus on transforming pets’ lives through science-led nutrition and Colgate’s purpose to reimagine a healthier future for all people, their pets and our planet,” said Karen Shenoy, DVM, US chief veterinary officer for Hill’s Pet Nutrition. “Our partnership is about more than distributing pet nutrition or essential health and hygiene products. It’s about empowering pet parents who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness, to help them keep themselves and their pets healthy so they can enjoy more time together.”
