AMERSFOORT, THE NETHERLANDS — Global ingredient supplier IQI Trusted Petfood Ingredients announced the appointment of a new sales director for its European business. Arjan van Waes joined the company June 1, and in his new role will be responsible for managing and growing IQI’s sales in Europe.

As sales director for IQI Europe, van Waes will be charged with growing the company’s business through advisory selling, aimed at both existing and new customers. He will work with customers to help them find ways to produce healthy, highly palatable, safe and sustainable pet food at competitive costs, according to IQI.

After working at VION Food as product manager for its retail branch and in operational roles in livestock slaughter, deboning and meat processing, van Waes moved to Sonac, a Darling Ingredients brand. During his tenure at Sonac, he established the Sonac Functional Products business unit to help sell the company’s food-grade proteins and fats to the meat and savory products sector. In addition, he expanded the product portfolio, initiated marketing and sales campaigns, coordinated R&D activities, and grew the worldwide sales network.

IQI Trusted Petfood Ingredients joined OSI Group, LLC, a global supplier of beef, poultry, pork, vegetable and other food products, in October 2023. Through the partnership, IQI will be able to leverage OSI Group’s extensive supply chain, allowing IQI to reach new customers, expand its product portfolio, strengthen its supply relationships, and develop new innovative, premium ingredients for the pet food industry.
