BOULDER, COLO. — Next week at Global Pet Expo 2024, the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) will host a special section on the show floor dedicated to sustainably minded brands in the pet industry. The inaugural Sustainability Section will grace the show floor starting at PSC’s booth #541 and will include eight members of the coalition who have been successfully accredited by PSC.
This new section was made possible by a collaboration with the American Pet Products Association (APPA), organizer of Global Pet Expo, as well as sponsorships from eShipping, Healthy Pet, inClover, MFiber and West Paw, all of whom are considered sustainability leaders in the pet industry, according to PSC.
“I’m excited that APPA has taken such a powerful step in its commitment to sustainability in the industry,” said Jim Lamancusa, executive director at PSC. “The data shows that 80% of pet owners consider sustainability when making purchasing decisions, and also that sustainable pet products are growing at 7.1-times faster than conventional. We are thrilled that APPA has given us the chance to elevate some of our accredited top performers in the sustainability arena and draw attention to this fast growing and profitable area of the industry.”
Companies exhibiting in the Sustainability Section of the Global Pet Expo 2024 show floor include:
- Austin and Kat
- BetterBone
- Bright Planet
- Brutus Broth
- dsm-firmenich
- inClover
- Mondi Jackson
- Tuesday’s Natural Dog Company
Each of these companies has been accredited by PSC, which involves a comprehensive and stringent third-party assessment of current sustainability initiatives and practices, as well as a proven commitment to continuous improvements. According to PSC, these companies are all considered top performers among its nearly 200 member companies.
“APPA has strengthened its commitment to the growing sustainability movement within the pet industry,” said Jeremy Baker, chief growth officer at APPA. “Working with PSC to create this pilot section allows our guests to get a glimpse into some of PSC’s highest performers, and to learn more about how sustainability supports our member businesses.”
