PAWTUCKET, RI. — Pet industry distributor Pet Food Experts (PFX) announced Feb. 29 the appointment of Joe Emerick to senior vice president of human resources, effective Feb. 8.
Emerick brings a wealth of diverse leadership experience to his new role with PFX. This includes leading talent management, supporting total rewards initiatives, overseeing employee relations, and establishing strategic partnerships, according to PFX.
“With Joe’s extensive 17-plus years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, we’re embarking on a mission to elevate our team and cultivate a culture centered around inclusivity and providing incremental value for our 750-plus PFXers,” said Michael Baker, president and chief executive officer at PFX. “It’s important to create a workplace that’s got your back, where every member of our PFX family knows they’re part of something bigger than themselves.”
Emerick most recently served as vice president of people and culture at Welch’s, marking the last of several HR roles he held with the company. Earlier in his career, he served as a human resources representative for GAF Materials Corporation. Emerick currently serves as a board member for the town of Concord, Mass., where he supports the human resources leadership team in the area of human capital.
“I’m thrilled and honored to join an organization committed to growing the pet industry, while also fostering a culture that puts people first,” Emerick said. “Together, we will work to create an environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives can reach their full potential, have their voices heard, and contribute to exceptional business performance.”
Emerick earned a degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University. He will be based at PFX’s national headquarters in Pawtucket.
