DES MOINES, IOWA — João Marcelo Gomes has been promoted to president of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health’s EMENA (Europe, Middle East and North Africa) segment, following the promotion of former EMENA President Stefaan Van Dyck, Ph.D., to group president of the global division.
In 2019, Gomes joined the company as president of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health South America. He was named president of Kemin Food Technologies EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in 2023. He holds a veterinary degree from Universidade Federal Rural of Rio De Janeiro.
In his latest role, Gomes will leverage nearly 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development to support Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health’s continued growth in the EMENA market.
As group president of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health, Van Dyck will oversee global growth for the segment. He succeeds G.S. Ramesh in the position, who will now shift focus to two emerging Kemin units in the aquaculture and animal vaccine spaces — Kemin AquaScience and Kemin Biologics.
"I'm eager to join the EMENA region and work together to continue the team's success, execute Kemin's growth strategy, and take the business to the next level," Gomes said. "Over the past few years, Kemin has invested significantly in the EMENA region with new production sites, innovative technologies, and local experts supporting customers. In the upcoming years, we will continue to focus our efforts on feed efficiency, feed protection, animal productivity, and cost reduction — all while investing in efficiency and progress toward net zero greenhouse gas emissions."
