MOUNT LAUREL, NJ. — J&J Snack Foods announced the launch of Dogsters® pumpkin flavored ice cream treats for dogs on Jan. 17. The new flavor was developed based on consumer feedback, according to J&J Snack Foods, with many requesting a frozen, dairy-free treat for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
Dogsters pumpkin flavored ice cream is a veterinarian-approved, low-fat and low-calorie treat, according to J&J Snack Foods. The treat is formulated with real pumpkin and probiotics to support gut and digestive health, and doesn’t include any artificial colors or flavors.
The new flavor builds upon other flavors of Dogsters including Cheesy Bac’n, Nutly & Cheese, and Mintë Kissably Fresh. Dogsters can be served frozen and is suitable for all dog breeds.
“The new Dogsters pumpkin flavor builds on our tail-wagging, better-than-a-belly-rub portfolio of treats for dogs,” said Joanne Mizner, vice president of marketing at J&J Snack Foods. “After speaking with customers and pawrents across the country, we discovered the importance of a dairy-free option for pups. Pumpkin is the perfect addition to our lineup because we want all dogs to be able to enjoy a refreshingly cool treat that uses real ingredients and no artificial colors or flavors.”
All Dogsters ice cream treats are produced in the United States and available at grocery stores nationwide. The new Dogsters pumpkin flavor will be available in Giant Eagle, The Giant Company and HEB locations beginning this year, with rollout to additional retailers planned later in the year.
