WASHINGTON — Pet Food Institute (PFI) announced the promotion of two of its staff on Jan. 4. Pat Tovey has been promoted to vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs, and Dana Waters has been promoted to manager of international affairs.
Tovey has been with PFI for nearly 13 years, providing the association with policy direction and leadership on regulatory and food safety issues. In his new role, Tovey will continue to manage PFI’s Regulatory Affairs Committee and the AAFCO’s Product Safety and Ingredient Subcommittees. He will also coordinate an annual food safety session for PFI’s members.
Waters joined PFI just over a year ago as a policy analyst. In her new position, Waters will be responsible for managing the International Trade Subcommittee and all international issues, as well as providing import and export services to PFI’s members.
“These promotions are well deserved,” said Dana Brooks, president and chief executive officer of PFI. “With food safety as PFI’s main priority and international trade in US pet food growing at a rapid pace, these staff members consistently work hard to provide exemplary service to our members and the pet food industry.”
