NEPTUNE CITY, NJ. — Nylabone® shared Jan. 3 that it has been certified as a Pet Sustainability Accredited Business by the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC). According to the company, its accreditation recognizes that Nylabone is a sustainably led business that aims to drive positive impact for pets, people and the environment.
As a brand in the Central Garden & Pet portfolio focusing on healthy chewing habits in pets, Nylabone originally joined the PSC in 2022 as an Advocate Member. Now, following an assessment of its sustainability practices and business operations, the brand has achieved PSC accreditation. According to Nylabone, the assessment evaluated its operations in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, as well as its social business practices addressing poverty, health and education, inequality, and more.
“Promoting a cleaner, healthier and all-around better planet for people and furry friends alike is essential to who we are,” said Glen S. Axelrod, president and chief executive officer of Nylabone Products. “This PSC accreditation is not only a critical part of our commitment toward sustainable pet products, but it also serves as an important reminder to the Nylabone team that our actions make an impactful difference for our Earth.”
Nylabone aims to provide pets with high-quality chewing products that support pet health and the environment. Through its sustainability efforts, the brand has saved about 600 cubic feet of landfill space by using 100% recyclable packaging materials, prevented 1.1 million lbs of greenhouse gas annually by using electro-hydraulic machinery at its facilities, and generated around 400,000 kw hours of clean energy by using rooftop solar systems.
