CINCINNATI — ProMach announced its ID Technology brand has acquired Lofton Label & Packaging, a producer of labels and printed flexible packaging materials, on Oct. 3. The acquisition will expand ProMach’s labeling and coding capabilities, enabling it to help customers keep their packaging operations running at peak efficiency, according to the company.
Lofton was founded in 1981 and is based in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area. The company specializes in flexographic packaging rollstock films, stand-up pouches, sachets and stickpacks. According to Lofton, its solutions add value to labeling with digital embellishments like tactile and cold foiling, as well as variable data and imaging. The company also offers a variety of specialty label solutions including Global Product Authentication Service (GPAS) labels for tracking, brand protection and consumer engagement, Extended Content Labels (onserts), Instant Redeemable Coupons (IRC), and multi-layer peel and resealable labels.
Lofton serves a range of industries including agriculture, animal health, food and beverage, health, beauty, industrial chemical, nutraceuticals, and wine, beer and spirits.
“We’re pleased to welcome the Lofton Label & Packaging team to ProMach,” said Mark Anderson, president and chief executive officer of ProMach. “With the addition of Lofton, ProMach continues what we started more than a decade ago — the expansion of our label converting capabilities to complement our extensive portfolio of labeling equipment solutions. This further bolsters our vision of providing our North American customers with comprehensive labeling and coding solutions and support from a partner that is close to them, wherever they are.”
Lofton and its team of 70 employees will join ProMach’s Labeling & Coding line, which is led by Alan Shipman, president of the group. Mike Gaughan, chief operating officer of Lofton, will continue to lead the company’s team.
“The Lofton team brings with it a strong reputation for providing exceptional solutions and support to their entire customer base in the upper midwestern United States,” Shipman said. “Their addition to our Labeling & Coding business line brings our eighth label production location and underscores our goal of providing exceptional label products and support to our customers, in addition to our labeling equipment. With our growing label production capabilities and reach, we continue to deliver high-quality labels to customers faster because we’re physically closer to them — and these shorter shipping distances translate to bottom line benefits to help them meet their demanding business needs.”
ProMach’s Labeling & Coding line consists of a variety of product brands including ID Technology, EPI, Panther, Code Tech and Greydon that offer several solutions, from packaging labels to machinery. Through an extensive network of more than 17 sales and service offices and seven label converting facilities, the Labeling & Coding line serves a range of industries throughout North America, including pet food, offering decorative labels, blank and shell labels, RFID labels, specialty labels and more.
For pet food specifically, ID Technology’s solutions include CIJ continuous inkjet, TIJ thermal inkjet, laser coders and thermal transfer TTO printers, labeling for secondary packaging, print and apply labeling systems, direct-to-case printing systems, pallet labeling solutions and more.
“We’re excited to be a part of the best labeling solutions team in the industry,” said Rick Gajewski, founder and president of Lofton Label & Packaging. “ProMach has a proven track record of investing in their companies and leveraging their strengths to better serve customers. One of our internal messages has been ‘We Love Our Customers’, and this will reinforce that even more, as current Lofton customers will benefit from ProMach’s extensive portfolio of solutions. Plus, current ProMach customers will now have greater access to more options than before.”
