WALBRIDGE, OHIO and BENTONVILLE, ARK. — Jones-Hamilton Co. announced it has partnered with BSM Partners on Sept. 14. The partnership will help grow and develop new applications for the use of Jones-Hamilton’s SBSPet® ingredient.
SBSPet® is a sodium bisulfate (SBS) natural acidifier for the pet food industry. The ingredient is used in dry cat food formulas to help with feline urine acidification, as well as in soft treat formats to help with pH reduction and product preservation. According to Jones-Hamilton, the ingredient can help reduce the risk of urinary tract disease in pets, increase product stability and palatability, address nutritional issues, and control Salmonella in dry pet food formulas.
Jones-Hamilton has served as a leading manufacturer of SBS since 1980, pioneering the safe use of the ingredient in numerous applications, according to the company. To help advance its position in the pet food industry, the company has made the move to partner with BSM.
“We are committed to reinforcing our position in the pet food industry, as evidenced by the addition of Business Development Manager Laura Baas, and this affiliation with BSM Partners,” said Juan Suarez, division manager of Jones-Hamilton Animal Nutritional Health. “We are confident that BSM, equipped with their diverse group of PhDs, certified veterinarians and nutritionists, will aid us in advancing our goal of delivering effective solutions to the industry.”
Through the partnership, BSM will provide research, consulting and strategy services for Jones-Hamilton as it seeks to educate the pet food industry on its ingredient and expand the reach of its products in the pet sector.
“I’m excited at the opportunity to learn from the technical service and product development expertise of the BSM Partners team and expand the reach of SBS Pet,” Baas said.
