VIENNA — Coveris, a flexible packaging manufacturer, has acquired D.K. LAMIN, a flexible packaging manufacturer. According to Coveris, the acquisition will expand its footprint and provide it access to the strongest packaging market in Central and Eastern Europe: Poland.
Founded in 1990, D.K. LAMIN specializes in high-end flexible packaging, laminated films and converted products. The company focuses on adding value to food, pet food, home and personal care, and medical packaging.
According to Coveris, D.K. Lamin’s expertise and portfolio “perfectly aligns” with Coveris’ existing packaging capabilities. The acquisition is expected to help strengthen Coveris’ growth strategy in pet food.
“We are already a very strong player in the pet food market and with D.K. LAMIN as the newest member of the Coveris Group we see a huge growth potential by adding high value capacity and expertise to our existing business,” said Christian Kolarik, chief executive officer of Coveris. “It is a site with strong focus on a fast-growing domestic market. Together with Pawel Daniluk, the former owner who is staying on board as managing director, we are looking to further invest and leverage its potential on the way forward.”
Through the acquisition, D.K. LAMIN will be integrated into Coveris’ business, joining Coveris Pirtó in Hungary to establish a hub for high-tech packaging production in Eastern Europe. Coveris established its first manufacturing facility in Central and Eastern Europe three years ago, and the acquisition is set to further expand the company’s presence in the region.
“With this deal, D.K. LAMIN is joining an international network which will support our growth and secure our solid long-term future,” said Pawel Daniluk, managing director of D.K. LAMIN. “The reliable and strong structure of Coveris will also be a great advantage to our customers.”
