MINNEAPOLIS — TEEF for Life, a prebiotic pet dental brand, teased the launch of two new supplements to help promote oral health in pets. The brand also announced updates for its product development and new packaging.
A subsidiary of Primal Health, TEEF leverages patented Selective Microbial Metabolism Regulation Technology (SMMRT®) created by Emily Stein, Ph.D., co-founder and chief executive officer of Primal Health. The technology has been clinically proven to grow beneficial bacteria and stop the growth of dental disease-associated bacteria in humans and pets. Using expertise in microbiology and molecular nutrition, TEEF offers pet supplements to promote oral health.
TEEF’s flagship product — Protektin42™ — seeks to target the root cause of gum disease, cavities and bad breath in dogs. Formulated with human-grade, “tummy-friendly” and plant-derived ingredients, including pre- and postbiotics, Protektin42 comes in a powder format that can be added to water.
Since 2020, the brand has been researching and developing two new products, a formula designed for dogs with kidney issues and sensitive stomachs, Protektin42™-S, and a formula for cats, Protektin30™. The new products will feature updated glass jar packaging.
“We spent a lot of time listening to customers’ and partners’ feedback on our product and user experience,” Stein said. “Our new and updated products aim to address that feedback to further elevate TEEF for Life as the preferred choice for daily dental hygiene for pets.”
Alongside its product development news, TEEF for Life also announced that its was named the winner of the Pet Pitch Competition by the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) at the 40th Veterinary Medicine Expo (VMX) this past month. Stein pitched the brand’s technology to seven veterinarians and judges and received a cash prize.
