DUBLIN — Elanco Animal Health has added two personnel to its team in Ireland. Niall Claffey and April Higgins have joined the company as territory business manager and key account manager, respectively, and will support its growth within the pet and ruminant industries.
Claffey has experience in management and sales within the livestock and agricultural industries. He previously worked at a livestock trade business and ran his own diary herd. In his new role with Elanco, Claffey will collaborate with veterinarians to help develop solutions for farmers and pet owners throughout Eastern Ireland.
“Agriculture is a changing industry, with a large focus on environmental sustainability,” Claffey said. “As animal health plays a key part in reducing livestock-related emissions, I wanted to be able to play a part in providing solutions to help achieve this. That’s why I jumped at the chance for working as part of the Elanco team.”
Higgins has experience in account management within the pharmaceutical industry, as well as more than six years of experience in the livestock feed market. She currently runs a sheep and beef farm out of her home. At Elanco, Higgins will support buying groups within Southern Ireland.
“Taking on this new role has allowed me to realign my focus and I’m excited to be taking the next step in my career with such a progressive, innovative company,” Higgins said.
According to Rona Campbell, sales manager of Ireland at Elanco, the appointments will help strengthen the company and enable it to expand its business in Ireland.
“These new appointments will be valuable assets to help bolster our existing team, as they support our customers and the wider farming and pet industries,” Campbell shared.
