BOULDER, COLO. — The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) has recently updated its Board of Directors for the coming year, appointing new leadership, as well as introducing a new member.
“I am consistently grateful for the time, energy and expertise our board brings to our work,” said Caitlyn Dudas, executive director of PSC. “Our impact is a direct result of their extraordinary leadership.”
David Yaskulka, senior vice president of corporate social responsibility at Mid America Pet Food, has been elected to board chair for a two-year term. He originally joined PSC in 2020 and served as its vice chair for the past year. Prior to his role at Mid America Pet food, Yaskulka served as chief executive officer at Nature’s Logic before the company was acquired by Mid America in August 2021. He has also served as board chair at Greater Good Charities from 2018 to 2022.
Rebecca Rose, chief executive officer of InClover Research, a supplier of scientifically formulated animal supplements, has joined PSC as a new board member. At InClover, Rose has focused on sustainability and product innovation. She has experience working with companies of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to small startups. Rose is also a biochemist and has three patents on treating joint disorders in animals. She formerly served on the board of the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC).
“As a first follower of the PSC, I see, believe and am inspired by the vision of a thriving and collaborative pet industry that creates a positive impact,” Rose said. “I am elated to join the PSC board and help to advance our industry.”
In conjunction with the new board personnel, PSC also detailed that its outgoing Chair Stephanie Volo has moved to the role of chair emeritus, following eight years of service. Volo, chief impact officer at Earth Animal, is a founding member of PSC. According to the coalition, she has provided guidance and inspiration to aid in PSC’s growth, advocating for innovative, sustainable programs like Flex Forward and Impact Unleashed.
Ted Mischaikov, former chief executive officer of Primal Pet Foods and Health Pet, ended his six-year term on the board. At PSC, Mischaikov aided the coalition’s Finance Committee, providing insight and leadership with a focus on financial management and planning.
“I'm humbled and thrilled to help this extraordinary staff and group of fellow volunteers move our industry toward greater and greater sustainability,” Yaskulka said. “I want to welcome Rebecca, and to thank board members Stephie Volo and Ted Mischaikov for their leadership and years of service.”
