CHICAGO — On Aug. 24, TC Transcontinental Packaging, a division of TC Transcontinental, received recognition from the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) for its dedication to sustainability. The company was named a Top Performer 2022/2023 in the Earth Defender Category, which recognizes the top 20% of PSC-accredited companies.

TC Transcontinental Packaging received the award for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and environmentally friendly development goals, following its accreditation by PSC in May.

“We are honored to be recognized for our sustainability initiatives,” said Thomas Morin, president of TC Transcontinental Packaging. “By demonstrating leadership in sustainable packaging, we provide our customers with a roadmap to lessen their environmental footprint and create long-term value for stakeholders.”

Currently, the company offers a variety of sustainable packaging solutions for pet food, including its VieVERTe® line, which launched in 2019. VieVERTe offers environmentally friendly packaging that provides the same benefits as standard flexible packaging, such as extended shelf life and product protection. The line is pre-approved for How2Recyle and can be customized to include post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, furthering pet food manufacturers’ sustainability goals.

The VieVERTe line is just one of TC Transcontinental’s strategies toward sustainability. In 2020, the company established a Recycling Group to improve value recovery and transform plastic waste into packaging materials.

PSC’s award also recognizes TC Transcontinental’s investment in its employees and contributions to the communities in which it operates.
